SScality RING scales out linearly and limitlessly
San Francisco, CA – October 27th, 2015 Scality, the leader in software-defined storage for the information age, today announced the hire of industry veteran Syed Hoda to the executive management team. Hoda joins Scality as Chief Marketing Officer to lead the global marketing strategy and accelerate growth throughout the Americas, EMEA, Asia-Pacific, and Japan.
A 20-year industry veteran, Hoda most recently served as CMO of parstream, Inc., an Internet of Things (iot) analytics company, recently acquired by Cisco. Previously, Hoda served as a senior executive at Cisco in a variety of management roles in the US, Europe, and Asia. Hoda was General Manager of Cisco’s Emerging Solutions Group in San Jose, California and was also instrumental in the launch of the company’s Globalization Center in Bangalore, India.

Hoda’s onboarding comes at the end of an impressive year for Scality, marked by a recent $45 million round of funding, strategic growth in the Americas, Paris and Japan, global resale agreements with Dell and HP, a series of high-profile customer wins, and significant enhancements to the Scality RING, which were made generally available in March 2015. In June, Scality released a free online trial of the software, and in September, created an additional free online trial focused on digital video storage use cases.
Hoda studied Industrial Engineering as an undergraduate at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and earned a Master of Business Administration from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also a regular contributor to The Huffington Post
