Scality names jason donahue chairman of the board as it strengthens leadership and expands customer base

San Francisco, CA – October 30, 2018 Scality, leader in software for distributed file and object storage and multi-cloud data control, today announced that it has named veteran executive and experienced corporate board leader Jason Donahue to its board of directors as Chairman.

Donahue comes to Scality’s board of directors with extensive experience in technology and a track record of success as a CEO and board member, including with Cloudmark, Acronis and Apptix. In his various roles, he has been successful creating value for both public and private companies. Donahue brings his unique style of financial discipline, visionary leadership, technology innovation, marketing savvy and unwavering perseverance to Scality as the company’s growth is accelerating, both in customer acquisition and revenue.

“We’re beyond excited to have Jason Donahue lead Scality’s board of directors, bringing his extensive experience and energy to bear for Scality as we enter the next phase of our growth,” said Jerome Lecat, Scality’s CEO. “He’s highly-energized and, as a veteran of the storage industry, is really interested in rolling-up his sleeves and helping us take the company to the next level.”

“I am extremely excited to be joining the board of the leading independent software-defined storage player just as they are beginning to scale deployments on Zenko, the breakthrough data orchestration platform that enables hybrid and multi-cloud use cases such as cloud storage for disaster recovery or media services for content delivery, transcoding, and video indexing,” said Donahue. “The unique approach that Scality has taken, offering both enterprise and open source editions, appeals to commercial customers as well as developers building the next generation of cloud-enabled applications.”

Extending further that depth of expertise at the board-level, Scality is also welcoming Randy Seidl, founder and CEO of Revenue Acceleration, as an advisor to its board of directors. In this role, Seidl strengthens his long-standing relationship with Scality, bringing the extensive background in storage and the broader tech industry that he earned over the years working for companies that include Hewlett-Packard and EMC.

In addition to the expansion of its board, Scality ended its third quarter in 2018 with many other successes. This past quarter Scality launched its ground-breaking Zenko multi-cloud controller, doubled the company’s revenue from the Americas, and significantly expanded in the M&E and public sector markets. Just last week, Scality announced that it once again earned a position in the Leaders quadrant (for the third year in a row) of the newly-published 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage.
