Scality's software-defined solution offers maximum flexibility and freedom for nationally recognized health care system
Lancaster General Health is a not-for-profit health system with a comprehensive network of care, including more than 300 primary-care and specialty physicians, outpatient and urgent care services, and four hospitals. Its membership in Penn Medicine brings together the strengths of a world-renowned, not-for-profit academic medical center and a nationally recognized, not-for-profit community health care system.
Over the past 125 years, the institution has grown to become known for providing innovative and compassionate care that helps make its community among the healthiest in the United States.
Lancaster General Health contacted Scality because its EMC Isilon (file) and Atmos (object) environments had become difficult to manage and unreliable with serious system and service disruption.
With a hardware refresh on their roadmap, they considered alternatives to replace EMC file and object storage for their McKesson PACS. Going software-defined is an overall strategic goal for the organization, so Scality solutions were a natural fit.
Scality met the institution's goal of using software-defined solutions to achieve maximum flexibility and hardware freedom.
Key benefits include:
- Durability options
- Hardware options
- Deployment flexibility
