Scality Continues Expansion with New Engineering Office to Support Customers Coast to Coast
San Francisco, CA – May 12, 2015 – Scality, the leader in software-defined storage (SDS) at petabyte-scale, today announced it has opened a brand new office in the Cambridge Innovation Center at 1 Broadway in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Scality’s Boston Research and Development Center is in the heart of Kendall Square, the hub for innovation in the greater Boston area.
Demand for reliable, scalable storage solutions is at an all-time high. This demand is underscored by a record 2014 for Scality during which the company grew its business by 250 percent. Since July 2014, Scality has expanded from 78 to 135 employees, an increase of 73 percent, and announced a major global distribution agreement with HP.
Led by Jim Yang, Senior Manager and Boston Development Center Engineering Lead, the company’s Cambridge office will continue the engineering excellency of Scality and develop significant new features in the Scality RING product using cutting-edge technologies, and will add ten new hires in 2015 with a specific focus on development and quality engineering roles. The site will further double in 2016.

Scality will be holding an open house in their new Cambridge office on Thursday, May 14th, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, in the fourth floor common area. Dan Green, VP of Engineering, and Vianney Rancurel, Director of Research will be onsite to talk about the Scality, our technology vision, and research areas. Scality applies a number of advanced distributed systems and peer-to-peer concepts within the RING product, and are very active in continued research in these areas.
