What is the Course du Coeur? It’s a special relay race over 4 days and 4 nights where teams of 12 runners cover the distance between Paris and the French Alps. But more importantly it is an occasion to run a race that raises awareness about organ donation. The enterprises entering the race make a donation to Trans’Forme, an NGO promoting physical activity to people who’ve received an organ transplant. One of the teams taking part to the race is made of only runners who have had organ transplants. The race is an occasion to show transplantation is not necessarily.
With over 100% growth, a full list of features, and a rather robust ecosystem, the pace of innovation and transformation is showing no signs of slowing down at AWS re:Invent 2016. New services, expanded capabilities, and rich features are accelerating a broad spectrum of tools, solutions, and sheer capacity offered by Amazon AWS. AWS re:Invent 2016 is off to a great start, and so is Scality. Scality launched its open source Scality S3 Server on the Amazon AWS Marketplace. Completely free and AWS S3-compatible, the power of scale-out multi-petabyte object storage technology is now available with a single mouse click..

Scality is at the forefront of helping companies solve their storage needs today, and plan for the future. We have been rapidly expanding our partnerships and are now integrated with 45 (and counting) industry-leading application partners in order to provide true end-to-end solutions. See Our Full Recap Our show recap page features video interviews with our key media and entertainment partners such as Aspera, Elemental Technologies, HPE, and.
Scality was invited to present in the Cloud28+ ISV track and it immediately became very clear that this ecosystem is a natural fit for Scality. The RING as a storage platform is an obvious enabler for many of the technologies offered in Cloud28+:

The ultimate goal of any organization that embraces scalable computing must be optimization at every layer, with the ability to enhance each layer without creating imbalance elsewhere. For example, increasing efficiency in Open Compute storage hardware requires increased responsibility for availability and durability in the software layer. Only with this symbiosis between hardware and software can administrators and users reap the many rewards of scalable computing: incredible efficiency at scale, always-on stability, and budget and resource alleviation.
Scality was present at the OpenStack Summit in Tokyo 2015. The OpenStack Summit provides a wide array of persistent storage services, ranging from local data volumes managed by the Cinder API, to object storage via Swift, image storage via Glance, and shared file services through Manila. For OpenStack administrators, this can create a management burden by imposing multiple independent storage silos to provide volume, file and object storage for Nova based application instances.
Visiting broadcasting trade shows is always a very humbling experience as these shows make you realize how little you know about the larger media and entertainment industry. I couldn’t say one smart thing about the newest UAV’s, drones, quad or octo-copters except for they look like fun toys. Which is the best green screen technology? Who’s the leader in mobile satellite dishes? Fortunately the Scality team knows a whole lot about video storage. Even stronger: I’d dare to say we have become an authority when it comes to building high-performance origin storage infrastructures, massive scale long-term archives and low-latency nearline.
The OpenStack Summit in Vancouver ended a few days ago. I was fortunate enough to be there with several colleagues from Scality. There were many interesting sessions and I’ve captured the high points below.
Last week the global OpenStack community gathered in the beautiful city of Vancouver (Canada) to celebrate the release of OpenStack Kilo (which Scality recently announced support for), share knowledge, and report experiences in hundreds of technical sessions, as well as to start planning and designing the features that will be part of the next release; dubbed Liberty.
100x the amount of raw footage per production. 13 to 26 episodes online at the same time (e.g. House of Cards). 2.5 billion video-ready smartphones and growing. I don't even have to say anything about growing video resolutions (4K, 6K, 8K) and it's already clear that I'm talking about the New And Bigger Show!

I'm very excited for the next episode of Scality Conversations (2/26). Our guest will be Mark Thiele of SuperNAP, a longtime thought leader in the infrastructure, cloud and hosting spaces. Our discussion will focus on the changing world of IT infrastructure.
Joke aside, I sat through session after packed session on the future of storage and Software-Defined Storage's place in that future during this year's Gartner DCIM Conference.
This is not an audience of trade show tire-kickers but one of supercomputing specialists who continuously push technology to its limits to solve some of the greatest scientific challenges.
The OpenStack Summit in Paris ended a few days ago. I was fortunate enough to be there with several of my colleagues from Scality. There were many interesting sessions and I've captured the high points below.
Last week the OpenStack community gathered in Paris, France to celebrate the Juno release of the OpenStack platform, and simultaneously get together to brainstorm and collaborate about the Kilo release, the next cycle. This was the first time I attended an OpenStack Summit and gave quite an impression. The OpenStack community is huge! The sheer amount of companies involved, ranging from small start-ups all around the ecosystem up to the largest IT vendors around (hello HP, IBM, Cisco, RedHat, Intel, Ericsson and so many others!). It amazes me how many companies provide consultancy & training, innovative storage solutions integrations, enhance the.
Scality is super excited for OpenStack Paris! We’ve got a great set of activities on the plate:
